SUMMARY:Lake Lehow Fishing
DESCRIPTION:(Den meeting optional\, check with your Den leader) \nJoin pack 317 for an exciting fishing trip hosted by the Colorado State Angler Education Center. This event is open to all scouts\, from novice to experienced anglers. It will be held at a stocked lake and is strictly catch-and-release. All fishing gear\, including barbless hooks and bait\, will be provided. \n(Click on the Venue below to see a map link to the venue) \nDirections to the Lake \nThere is no official address for the lake so please use GPS and plug in the parking lot for Waterton Canyon.  I’ve attached an overhead of the area below.  The entrance to Lake Lehow is through the entrance into the parking lot for Waterton Canyon.  As you pull into that parking lot there is a section to the right that is usually blocked off with a sign that says “Trailers Only”.  That’s the first red line on the map closest to waterton road.  If the chain is up just take it down and drive through\, there will be a road that follows a fence immediately to your left.  Drive down that towards the gate to Lehow.  There might be someone waiting at that gate (second red line on the map)\, but if not\, the gate should be dummy locked and can be opened by you\, just close it and dummy lock it behind you.  Then follow the road straight to the lake\, there will be offshoots to the left and right but stay straight on the main road.  There is a large parking area (red circle) before you get to a large brown shed on the right.  You can park anywhere in there but not beyond the shed.

DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to race? Bring your family and friends for a fun adventure in Holy Family Hall. \nThe race event will run from 9 AM until about 1 PM. The additional time is blocked for setup and teardown. \nHave your car ready to race. Be sure to drop off your car the night before for final inspection. Last minute inspections are also available. \nAbout the Pinewood Derby\, from BSA: \n\n\n\n\nPartnered with a parent or guardian\, Cub Scouts work together\, strengthening bonds and building confidence – and their own custom race cars! They begin with an official Pinewood Derby Race Car kit\, then create a design\, then carve it from the wood block provided in the kit\, and detail it with paint\, decals and other accessories\, and perfect strategies to compete in their pack’s own Pinewood Derby. It’s s a wonderful learning experience centered on teamwork\, ingenuity and sportsmanship – all for the thrill of the race and a lifetime of great memories to share with fellow racers young and old.

Since our pack does not have a host with the tools and equipment to help build cars\, this will be an excellent alternative! \nDetails from the event organizer can be found below. Click here for event registration and details. Please note that the event fee is $8. Please ask our Cubmaster for your car kit in advance. \nOfficial Details: \n\n\nCome to Donald E. Scott Colorado Adventure Point for our Pinewood Derby Workshop! We will be there to help your Cub Scout design\, cut out\, sand\, decorate\, and test their car on our tracks. This is a great opportunity for Cub Scouts to work on their cars\, as we know not everyone has these tools available or knows where to start. \nCost of attendance is $8. If you would like us to have a pinewood derby kit (a pinewood derby kit includes the wood block\, wheels\, and 4 nail axles) waiting for you upon arrival the cost is $15.
